The LEAD Teaching Experience
At LEAD Academy, we believe that a passionate, well-trained teacher can be the lever that changes a child’s life. With that belief, comes an inordinate amount of work: from recruiting and hiring dedicated individuals, to providing them with the training, information and support they need to be effective, to supporting each other’s professional and personal development.
To say that we take this work seriously is to underestimate how deliberately we work to create a rich, intellectual life for faculty, from our teaching excellence program that supports a teacher’s individual needs–from lesson planning to diagnostic assessment and daily instruction—to honoring instructors not just on staff appreciation day but everyday in providing the materials, resources, and support they need to be successful.
Become a leader by working with leaders
At LEAD Academy, you will have the opportunity to build relationships with the best-trained, most motivated teachers, administrators, and support staff in the country. Regular weekly grade level and department meetings allow for instructors and staff to learn from one another, collaborate on solutions, and create the team chemistry that helps all students and teachers achieve at the highest levels.
Grow through Collaboration and Feedback
All LEAD teachers benefit from the communication and interaction they have with each other and with their School Director. All teachers are frequently observed and receive feedback on their planning, management and instruction. Regular meetings with the School Director and Dean of Instruction to discuss instruction, data, curriculum planning, and lesson planning allows instruction to remain data driven and responsive to student needs. To ensure that all instruction and expectations are aligned, all staff complete four weeks of professional development sessions and in-class development before and during LEAD’s Summer Session.
