The Ideal LEAD Teacher

We spend a great deal of time and energy looking for the Ideal LEAD Academy Teacher. Generally, this is a person who:

  • Is self-disciplined enough to become the best and to continue doing “Whatever it Takes” over the long haul.
  • Strives for perfection in all endeavors from giving extra time, resources, and effort to produce a highly refined and polished product. In other words, this teacher epitomizes the continual improvement philosophy, always looking for ways to set a higher standard.
  • Wants to take responsibility for directing, controlling, coaching, delegating, and otherwise orchestrating the tasks of others, especially his/her students. This means that he/she not only enjoys the responsibility of leading others, but actively seeks opportunities to assume leadership roles.
  • Stays “on the move,” i.e. s/he is full of positive energy and transmits this energy to his students and colleagues. In class, s/he is a dynamic instructor, never sitting at his/her desk and constantly checking on students’ work. Moreover, s/he recovers quickly from disappointment or situations of intense stress during a teaching day and is able to resume normal activity or move into problem solving without significant effort.
  • Enjoys working with others as part of a team and often makes the first move for face-to- face contact (i.e. making phone calls to parents, tracking students for tutorials or reminding them about doing their work). In general, s/he expresses positive feelings to others and finds it easy to give recognition and positive strokes, especially to his/her students
