About Us
The Vision of LEAD Academy: We will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to graduate 100% of our students and send them to a four-year college.
The Mission of LEAD Academy: LEAD Academy exists to support, educate and train the next generation of responsible citizens.
Founded in 2007, LEAD Academy opened its doors with 100 5th and 6th grade students in what was formerly the St. Vincent de Paul school at 1704 Heiman Street. We now serve some 380 students in grades 5 - 9, with two campuses, the original on Heiman Street and in the former Brookmeade Elementary School at 1015 Davidson Drive in West Nashville.
Our students follow a rigorous academic college prep instructional path that uses the Expeditionary Learning Model of sending students out into the world to learn from people and experiences first-hand. Early on, LEAD works to instill the values that foster strong leaders in our students. Our board, staff and faculty are focused on the success of our students in achieving their goals. LEAD's teachers are committed to the development of an appropriate learning path for each student and for supporting students all along the way. We expect our students to work hard towards their goals and we expect their outcomes to mirror these expectations.
