Welcome to Lead Academy

Students
At LEAD Academy we take a comprehensive view of student development. Our program prepares each of our students to graduate from a 4-year college, while at the same time instilling in them the values of community service and self-reliance needed to be productive, selfless adults. Students who complete the LEAD Academy curriculum will not only be ready to apply to college, but will be academically and socially prepared to succeed as leaders on those campuses.

Parents
Research has shown that the more parents trust their child’s teachers the more responsive they will be to invitations to involve themselves in the life of the school and its community. Quality instruction is not enough for every child to graduate and be accepted to a 4-year college. Research has demonstrated that involving parents/guardians and community members in a student’s education is one of the single most important factors to their achieving success.

LEAD Academy is a coeducational public charter school that serves 5th – 9th grade students whose goals are to graduate from high school and attend college.
LEAD started Nashville’s first charter high school this year and will add one high school grade level each year until 2014, when we will graduate our first high school class. Our vision is to do Whatever It Takes to ensure that our students achieve these goals.
LEAD Academy students engage with their community through service and investigation using the Core Habits of Leaders: Self-Reliance, Discipline, Courage, Commitment and Service. Our teachers encourage and support students by being available to them after school hours for homework help. Our parents and responsible adults make a commitment to participate in a variety of ways to support the education of their students at LEAD.
We invite all students and families to learn more about LEAD Academy by visiting our school and talking with teachers and students. At LEAD, we offer much more than an education!
